Finally, everything is calm at Collinwood. But then...
Truly, I don't know how to summarize this without simply telling the story. You'll just have to read it and see what you think. It is a sad story so I'll apologize right here and now, though I personally feel it has a lot of joy interwoven with the sadness. As with all my stories, it was originally posted on the old Yahoo Julia and Barnabas mailing list. It had chapters at that time but I've lost the version with the chapter breakdown so I'm posting it here in it's entirety.

Questions are being asked and Barnabas needs to put in an appearance at a family dinner. There is violence but it is not particularly graphically described.
