Summary
Korra and Asami were assigned to be roommates for their freshman year of college, and Korra doesn't know what to make of her. On the one hand, Asami is nice and brilliant, but on the other, she's really weird. Asami almost never talks, hates loud noises, prefers the dark, and pretty much never sleeps. For the second time that day, a woman levelled a rifle at Lena as she stood on the porch of the long, low house, an indistinguishable shadow in the dark.
“Who’s there?” the voice called out, firm and courageous. “Name yourself or I’ll shoot.”
Lena was fading from consciousness, her lips moving soundlessly, and she barely had the energy to straighten in the saddle before the bolt sliding home sounded. And for the second time that day, Lena was shot, the bullet grazing the side of her neck and unseating her as pain blossomed and she finally succumbed to the darkness for good.
