Summary
After three years separated from the boy who used to be his brother, Kaeya's life had taken on a new normal. One where he had replaced his former brother in the Knights of Favonious. One where he had people close enough to call acquaintances, but never friends. One where he would try to drown out memories of the past with wine in an all too familiar tavern. But he had gotten used to it. Life on his own had been rough, but slowly, he was healing.
That was up until Diluc Ragnivindr decided to return to Mondstadt.

“It was all my fault. I’m so sorry, Dad. I'm so sorry,” he sobs. “You were so much better than I will ever be. I don’t know how to do this without you here. I don’t want to.”
Diluc falls to his side, curling his knees up to his chest. “You could have lived, and here I am instead, wasting everything you gave me. I don’t know what to do anymore. I don’t know what you’d want me to do.” His breath hitches, and another wave of tears rolls down his face. “I’m all alone.”

Suffocating under the weight of grief and feeling disconnected and lost, Diluc's passive suicidal ideation starts to develop into something more concrete. He's struggling with his father's death, what happened to him during his time away, and the damage he's done to his relationship with Kaeya. Forgiving himself seems impossible, and it's getting harder and harder for him to get out of bed every morning.
Meanwhile, Kaeya just wants his brother back, Adelinde wants Diluc to stop running headfirst into danger, and Jean wants her childhood friend to smile again, and they - along with some new friends Diluc makes along the way - are determined to show Diluc how loved he truly is.

Well that's one issue resolved! Kaveh thought to himself, patting himself on the back for that one.or, the one where Kaveh hears Alhaitham’s in the hospital and immediately invokes his nonexistent husband rights.
