Summary
Magnus Bane is in a panic, his entire club has been contracted to provide entertainment for a party held at and for The Company. The Company is a "family business" and Magnus wants to keep his people as far away from that world as he can. Then he sees him—Alexander Lightwood the eldest son and head of the family.
Alec Lightwood has run his life and his business the same way for years. He gets what he needs but doesn't form attachments beyond those of his mother, sister, and two brothers. He didn't choose this life or these responsibilities but he loves it all the same. Then he sees him—Magnus Bane the man who runs Pandemonium.

Summary
In his years of being a wedding planner, Magnus has had some weird requests –including, but not limited to: a nudist ceremony, a dress made entirely of balloons, an underwater service and, on one memorable occasion, a wedding entirely designed to join in holy matrimony two drooling bulldogs adorned in matching suits.
In retrospect, and considering all the ludicrous demands they have received over the years, being asked to put together a ceremony on the docks outside a frankly dubious looking Chinese restaurant isn’t the most bizarre thing he has heard.
Being asked out by the groom, though, undeniably takes the crown.

Summary
Alec loves his job. He’s been touring since he was sixteen. He’s stayed in dozens of countries over the years, learned enough of their languages to get a beer in his hand and a man in his bed. The road is as much his home as the townhouse on the Upper West Side. He’s as comfortable in cheap hotel rooms with scratchy linens and glaring lights as he is in his penthouse that overlooks Central Park with its silk sheets and the constant hum of the city that never sleeps.
Alec works hard and that hard work has paid off. He just finished his latest sold-out world tour and by all rights, he should be on top of the world. But the mental pressure of celebrity is getting to Alec and he doesn't trust his footing. He's stuck where most people would kill to be and he just wants to know what his next move should be.
Enter Magnus Bane. A history professor at Columbia University, Magnus is content with his friends, his classes, and the occasional warm body in his bed. But he's been feeling stagnant, looking for the next chapter in his life to begin. If only he knew what Alec would bring his way.
