Summary
The second period was hell. Shane lost the face off again, almost getting knocked over in the process. His thoughts were barely cohesive anymore, his mind disconnected from reality. Shane's body screamed at him, every movement too much, his footing too unstable, his passes too sloppy. Too slow, too inaccurate, too weak. He knew he was letting his team down, he was failing them, he needed to be better, he was an undeserving captain, if he could just pull himself together…
Fucking pathetic.
A Boston player pushed him into the boards.
Shane's knees gave way underneath him and he went down. He felt winded, his lungs struggling to get oxygen into his system.
Everything felt wrong, wrong, wrong.
He needed to get up, get moving, score goals and lead his team, but he just couldn't find the strength.
People shouted, their voices too loud. Hands reached for him, moved him onto his back, and Shane wished they would let him go. They were not right, they were not…
…Ilya.
OR
Shane has the worst day of his life, the stress and anxiety causing him to go into heat during a game against Boston. Luckily, Ilya is there to take care of him.

Summary
“Hollander has a fire lit up under them,” Wiebe agrees, but it isn’t quite enough just yet. They weren’t pushing just to score, they were pushing to widen the gap as much as they could.
“He’s fast,” Rozanov taps his temple. “And has very sharp eye for openings. Very smart with his movements,”
“I’d be weeping if I had someone like that drafted from my team,”
“All I am hearing is that you would make sure Hollander retires in this team,”
Wiebe smirks, “Maybe after a Stanley Cup or two,”
Shane finally goes toe to toe with Montreal under Ottawa's flag. The rookies are scared shitless, and his old team looks worse for wear. It breaks his heart, but there can only be one who holds the Stanley Cup. It wasn't going to be the Metros.

Summary
“Is captain's job to overcome all… factors. He got too full of himself. Never reached his real potential. Is shameful.”
Okay, this is bullshit. Shane shoots Ilya a look, and the fucker won't still look at him. He also doesn't react to Grigori's words like he's heard them before. Well Shane hasn't and he has a few points he'd like to make. He fucking done being polite. Because what the fuck?
“Respectfully, I disagree,” says Shane and instantly feels four pairs of eyes on him.
Or, when Shane meets Ilya's father at an event and hears him shittalk his son, he has a few things to say about it.

Summary
Shane Hollander doesn't fight.
Doesn't, however, does not mean can't.
Too mad no one told Tanner Gagnon that.
