Shadow the hedgehog realizes he's very much in love with Sonic and acts very normally. Huh, that's not right, ah, here it is! Shadow the hedgehog realizes he's in love with Sonic and tries to tell him without ever saying the words. It goes well and Sonic understands immediately. Why is it 36k words? Because I hate them and they make me sick and I'm apparently incapable of being normal about the things I like.

What was supposed to be a simple (if high-stakes) mission goes horribly wrong when Dr. Eggman anticipates Shadow's arrival and springs a trap he never saw coming: capturing him, containing him, and using him as a power source for the latest and greatest creation in his trademark line of animal-powered robots.
