Harry Potter has ended up in the 1940s during his seventh year at Hogwarts, getting a new identity and getting re-accepted into his first proper home is easy. Getting revenge on his enemy before he even becomes a threat however is not as difficult as expected, only not in the way he first thought.

Clint’s eyes flicked up the empty stairs, his mind whirling. He had the beginnings of what was potentially one of the worst ideas he’d ever had, but he’d never let that stop him in the past. “There’s just one problem with that, Sam,” Clint said, feeling his mouth form the words without conscious input from his brain. “I’m kind of already seeing someone?”
Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye the Avenger, is just your average guy. Really. But when his teammates attempt to set him up on a blind date, he panics just a little. Now, he has to ask the new guy in his building to pretend to be his boyfriend so that the Black Widow and Captain America stop helping him. Except, it turns out that Phil Coulson is kind of perfect and Clint would maybe like to date him for real.

"What the fuck was that?" Bucky scrambled to his feet as Sam's heart dropped to his stomach. Shit.
"I'm sorry," Sam said, swinging his legs up onto the boat and standing up. Bucky took a step back, his gaze darting between the horizon and Sam. He didn't look angry; he seemed almost panicked.
"I don't—I'm not—"
"I'm sorry," Sam said again. He wanted to take a step towards Bucky, reach out and comfort, but that sure as hell wasn't the right move. How could he have read this so wrong? "It was my mistake. I shouldn't have—I thought—" I thought you wanted me.

No, Bucky Barnes is not fucking good.
He’s back to dealing with stupid gigs he didn’t choose with stupid hidden agendas and lives on the line. He’s trying to be a leader, but he’s right back to feeling unstable, and to tie it all off with a fucking bow Sam kisses him again and it feels like he’s regressed three years. Back to bad decisions, bad dreams, out of control and out of his hands. Back to barely breathing.
So, you can forgive him if his judgment is a little off.
Or; A governmental facility goes dark in Northern Virginia. The New Avengers receive their first mission; Sam Wilson follows.

Summary
Peter was never going to be a normal kid; he was Tony Stark’s son, and with that brought a whole world of responsibility and reputation that was unfairly both a burden and blessing. Normal was never a label Tony could apply to himself even, so it didn’t bother him at first to think of his child as anything but.
But then.
But then it became clear that things weren’t adding up with Peter. He started falling short of different markers, different tests. He was only a year old, then two years old. He could walk, but chose to crawl everywhere instead still. He didn’t speak at all. He was in the low percentiles of weight and height for kids his age because they had a hard time getting him to eat and keep it down.
(The kid fic beginning to an AU where Peter is just as brilliant as we all know without ever saying a word.)
