This is it, he thought.
This is what it feels like to be normal.
Sherlock inhaled slowly. The movement stretched the pale, uneven skin along his arm --- the scar pulling tight, blooming angry and red. The sting was sharp enough to focus on it.
He exhaled, shakily.
Warm tears slid down the sharp angles of his face, dripping silently to the floorboards. For a moment (a fragile, flickering moment) he smiled.
