Nie Mingjue had known from the very first.
In the end, it hadn’t been his Baxia that had taken out Wen Ruohan the way he’d wanted it to be, putting that awful man out of his misery and ending the nightmare he’d created for the rest of them. Despite that, after Nie Mingjue had shoved the corpse off of his body and gotten to his feet, he’d still brought his Baxia down on the man’s neck, cutting his head off so that he could take it back to the Unclean Realm to set as an offering before his father’s memorial tablet.
He’d used his Baxia to cut Wen Ruohan’s head off, and yet, at the same…he hadn’t.
He hadn’t, because it wasn’t entirely his Baxia anymore.
