Summary
He gave them a few moments, but the second he raised his hand, the room fell silent. Robby took a breath, steady and slow. He had to choose his words carefully.
"It's been a hell of a night. I know some of you saw parts of what happened, and others are only hearing rumors. So let me clear it up." His jaw tightened for just a second before he continued. "At around 18:35 earlier today, an armed man entered the ED…”

Santos walks in just as Frank finishes injecting his Zofran — trying to work through his chemo.
She gets the wrong idea.
(Or, Trinity has never managed to keep a goldfish alive, so moving onto a senior resident is probably a bad call).

“Keep your jacket on, cover for me and say I'm having crazy IBS or something. Meet me in the family bathroom in 20. I can cover that up,” Trinity said, as if directing a procedure.
“Cover what up?” Langdon tried, lamely, bringing a palm up to cover his neck.
And this was allegedly the most prolific liar on staff? Ha.
“That massive hickey that will make tonight Hell for you if you don't let me help."

Summary
In the show ER, there's an episode where John Carter reveals to his coworkers that he lost his virginity at eleven to a housemaid in her twenties. I took that prompt, put Langdon in his place, and brought in a few friends to react with the appropriate amount of horror upon hearing that.
Plus, a conversation between him and Santos, talking about what happened to both of them respectively, and the terror of being known by your sort of friend.

“How’s your arm?” he says.
“How’s your pill addiction?”
Langdon’s eyes narrow. “Really?”
“Oh, you walked right into that one, buddy.”
Maybe someone laced the coffee and that’s why she’s even more snippy than usual. Langdon is still her senior resident. Not that she can bring herself to care much.

Summary
He told Mikey he wouldn't touch another pill for as long as he lived, something he's sure the guy has heard from every passing person who's entered inpatient, sat in those hard unforgiving metal chairs. They probably stopped keeping a tally of how many showed back up again with the same solemn promise as if they forgot they already broke it the first time.
Addiction is a constant fight, where the opponent learns how to lose more than they'll ever win. Relapse expected, it's just how it goes.
Frank just has a devastating reason to be so terribly certain he won't.
In the aftermath of a harsh sober reality, Dr. Frank Langdon returns to The Pitt to face whatever mess he left behind while trying not to fray apart at the seams.

“There’s a link,” his therapist begins. “Between benzodiazepine addiction and ADHD.”
Frank had gone for a female therapist, not that he really had much choice. A man telling him what’s wrong with him would hit too close to home, he thinks. He’d probably walk out of each session worse off than he started them.
“You think I have ADHD?” He asks, flatly. Jesus. Why is he paying someone to tell him what he already knows?
“You know you likely have ADHD Frank.” His therapist answers.

Summary
Be kind to yourself, Cassie says in his head, soft and gentle. But Frank can’t. There is no world in which he can be kind to a version of himself that hurts Robby, especially sober. He’s supposed to be better now; he’s spent ten months clawing his way back inch by inch to being a person instead of a loose collection of hurts and cravings and spikes that pierced anyone nearby. But it seems that the version of himself that can connect with Robby, see eye-to-eye with him, talk to him without feeling like a gut punch, died the day of Pittfest last year.

If Robby knew he'd be needing to type the word "defenestration" in a worker's comp report, he would have called in sick. If Frank knew that he would be the subject of that report? He definitely would have called in sick.

Summary
It was already a busy morning. The was too many patients, Gloria already on Robby's ass about discharge times, and apparently, Frank had gone and looked after a sexist patient all by his lonesome. While talking with Dana about all of it, the two of them hear a clatter and a shout coming from Central 2. Frank's patient. Thirty seconds later, Robby doesn't get there in time to pull the man away, but he is to see the way Langdon was pale and buzzing with nerves, scrubs mussed, eyes wide and afraid where they were focused on the man Santos was currently drugging with a syringe.
Fuck.

Iceman didn’t put this much work into building his career just so he could spend it putting out Maverick's many fires. Alas, given that half the personal favors owed to Ice stem from him handling another officer’s Maverick Problem of The Day and the other half are kept on reserve for smoothing over whatever nonsense Pete causes next, it’s become something of a reputation for him.
“At least I’m cute, right?”
Tom drops his head back and stares at the ceiling in dismay. Sometimes, he truly wonders why he keeps this impulsive idiot of his. “You do have that going for you.”
