“I didn’t mean anything bad by it,” Yagi adds quickly. “I was just caught a little off guard because Aizawa-kun is normally so territorial. You two must be very close, for Aizawa-kun to not be bothered by your scent.”
“Yeah, I guess,” Hizashi replies.

“HELLO PARTY–people?” Hizashi was as loud as ever, bursting into their first hero course teacher meeting of the year, where Shouta’s addition to the staff had just been announced. They locked eyes instantly, and all Shouta could think was, when did he grow that god-awful mustache? When had he grown out his hair? It was long enough that it would have reached his waist if it were down, and that was… not god-awful at all. Seven years had treated him well.
“Eraserhead?” Hizashi broke the silence.
“Mic.” He nodded. And just like that, they were ripped right out of first-name basis and thrown into the soulless pit of hero names. It was for the best. They hadn’t ended things on the best of terms, anyway.

Summary
It was a pretty average day for Voice Hero: Present Mic; he had created many headaches (literal), received many headaches (metaphorical), and was about to inflict tinnitus on a not-inconsiderable number of people. This last part was due to an ongoing fight rather than any ill-will on his part, and honestly? Coming away from a fight with Present Mic with only tinnitus showed a level of self-control that he had worked very hard for, thank you very much.
Unfortunately, the villains he was fighting apparently hadn’t gotten the memo that it was supposed to be an average day for him, and instead of being quickly and efficiently captured in time for Mic to crash at his best friend and definitely-not-long-time-crush’s place, they had turned him into a cat.

So here he was walking toward a classroom to teach English to a bunch of high schoolers looking like he was trying to play super model. He blushed and ran a hand through the loose hair around his shoulders, tousling the blonde locks.

Summary
The old legends about humans taking selkies captive by stealing their skins was accurate- they couldn’t return to the sea without their pelts. That made it good news that Hizashi had his pelt back, he wasn’t being held captive accidentally or otherwise.
The bad news was that selkies traditionally exchanged pelts as a marriage tradition. They gave them back, of course, or they’d both be trapped above the water, but what was important was touching each other and the pelts at the same time. It was old magic and Hizashi wasn’t exactly sure how it worked, but it joined the two together for life in a far more concrete way than simple human marriage certificates ever could.
“Hizashi?” Concern colored Nemuri’s voice as she peered at him over her glasses (their eyesight was one of the last things to adjust to being fully on land- they were both wearing cheap drug store reading glasses). “What happened? He didn’t-”
Hizashi nodded, cutting her question off. He very much had.
“Shit.” Nem breathed out, eyes wide. “You might be fucked.” A wild voice deep in Hizashi’s subconscious almost had him responding that that was the best case scenario.

The prince was tall, with long, blonde hair that cascaded from a half bun around his pointy ears and well past his shoulders. His hair wasn’t braided like most of the elves he’d seen so far, but he was making up for it with a lot more jewelry, ornate gold rings, necklaces that peeked out from under the deep slit in his linen shirt, and a little clasp hooked onto one of his ears that had some sort of green gem hanging from it. Even his half rim glasses were gold, as was the chain that hung from them back around his neck.
Unsurprisingly, his clothes were also exceedingly high quality. Shouta couldn’t tell what color his fancy poofy shirt was in the slightly darkening light, but there was definitely a tint to it. It buttoned at the wrists with more green gems and was tucked into high-waisted black pants, which were tucked into deer skin boots. That was interesting- as far as he knew elves didn’t make use, any use, of animal products. But he’d heard that from the village, so maybe they were wrong?
The pain was definitely getting to Shouta- he didn’t realize his brain was starting to wander or that he’d missed his chance to escape until he found himself meeting the prince’s startlingly green eyes.

To help his eldest sister out, Naruhaya decides to pull up his bootstraps and moves from Kagawa to Osaka, so he can live with some kind relatives and attend public high school while getting a part-time job. For once, things go right when the owner of a rising star onigiri shop in Osaka’s food scene decides to hire him… and throws in a really decent wage (for a part-timer at least) while they were at it.
