Funny story: I orphaned this but now I want it back 'cos I want to write more.
Agent Curt Mega does not shoot Owen Carvour that night at the facility. He brings him home to America instead.
After a rather awkward interrogation session and a couple of weeks of being watched in a cell, Owen is cleared to go back to civilian life, under the condition that he is with constant supervision. Curt lets him stay in his house to keep an eye on him, but the air between them is horrible.
It takes a long time, but eventually they get back to the happy relationship they had before that fateful mission.
Just happy little scenes from their domestic life together, in one long chapter

This line of work meant having to accept a certain few facts of life. One of those is that, more often than not, you’ll never get a full night of sleep. Owen had startled awake a few hours ago to an incoming call demanding he rescue a ‘compromised agent’. He’d been in this gig long enough to know what that meant; Curt’s been kidnapped, interrogated, and given some form of sedative, and no-one else wants to deal with him.
Honestly it should be common knowledge in criminal circles by now. If you want a successful interrogation with the famous Agent Mega, do not, under any circumstances, drug him. For whatever reason, the man, instead of playing along nicely, will simply get high off his ass.

Summary
Curt has developed potentially the stupidest habit a spy ever could; he’s started journalling. He uses it to recount his day and work on his mission write-up skills, sure, but also to get his mind in order. He can sort through his feelings, work them out on paper without having to worry about phrasing it right or making sure he makes sense to other people, and it becomes a venue for safe confessions he can’t put anywhere else.
So, in this little confessional, after his first mission with Owen, he very stupidly writes ‘sort of hot, sort of an asshole’.
It’s true, in his defence. If anything, the issue with it is that he understates both traits.-
Curt keeps a diary, and tells it things he probably shouldn't. On the bright side, the code he uses is impenetrable, and there's no way Owen will ever find out all the horrible embarrassing things Curt's written about him.
