In the artificial light of the giant screen, Lucia can see Exekial’s shoulders stiffen. “... Did you?” There is a notable underlying strain in his voice, an uncharacteristic note of hesitation that pricks at her M.I.N.D. Slowly, he sets aside the tool in his hand. “What did she say?”
Lucia frowns at the abrupt shift in his demeanor, the uncharacteristically subdued tone. “That you haven’t been the same since you met with her.” She studies him closely, tries to gauge his reaction as she adds, “She’s worried about you.”
