Lloyd points to the little girl with pink hair. “This one fell out of a portal.” He points to the little boy in the orange hoodie. “This one came up to me and told me about how his foster family is really abusive. I'm adopting them both and you can't stop me!” Lloyd hands the kids their sandwiches, pours two glasses of water for them, and walks out of the room with the kids trailing behind.

This is my rewrite of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Basically, Rachel is a lot more accepting of aliens, Knuckles doesn't team up with Robotnik, Amy is here, and Tails wasn't on Earth yet.
Sonic is actually very knowledgeable about his home planet, despite being away for over a decade, because he still has an IGCP (Intergalactic Cell Phone).
Sonic knows that the Master Emerald is real, and he knows it's on Earth. He's the current Emerald Guardian.
