“You brought a weapon into my pack lands.”

For a moment, Steve looks like he doesn’t know how to respond to that. Then he sighs, shaking his head like Bucky’s some young pup yapping at him. It’s such a quintessentially Steve gesture, and Bucky would usually find it endearing, but tonight, he’s got the moon singing in his blood, and his emotions are volatile, not quite his.

He bares his teeth and stalks forward—only to still when Steve smiles, wide and wild, white teeth flashing like a knife between the dark scruff of his beard. It’s the smile of a man who got exactly what he wanted, and even half lost to the moon fever, Bucky knows it spells trouble.

“Sweetheart,” Steve says, voice dripping a sweetness that makes Bucky’s hackles rise, “I am the weapon.”

    -
Bucky’s pack doesn’t allow humans into their land during the full moon—even though Bucky’s the alpha and Steve’s not a normal human. But Steve’s never been one to follow the rules.

    Summary

The mer's face is twisted into an expression of utter terror—so remarkably human. With all that hair, Steve can’t even see his gills. But Steve’s had over a decade of experience with things that look just human enough to make his conscience twinge, right until the memories wash away the guilt in a flood of rage.

He walks closer, circling the tank to get a better look at the mer. He’s a bit of a mess, covered in cuts both shallow and deep, with his shoulder-length hair all tangled. He’s bleeding sluggishly still, red swirls vanishing into the water. He’s not in as bad a state as he was when Steve was done with him. Mers heal fast—much, much faster than humans. Steve’s never found that particularly fair, but then, life never is.

He stops by the foot of the tank, peering down at the mer’s thick, long tail. Objectively, it’s beautiful. The color’s a pale, pearlescent blue that Steve can’t remember seeing on any other of his kind, and the fins are large and transparent, like pretty frills.

Steve doesn’t even need to close his eyes to picture the very same tail dotted red with the blood of his men.

    “Hello, Bucky.”

    Summary

He isn’t stupid. Steve knows what this sounds like; he’s got a massive, insurmountable crush on a student. Totally unprofessional and wildly out of line. Not that he will be breathing a word of it to anyone. What would he even say? I met my new third years today and there’s a student in it who I believe might be the male reincarnation of Aphrodite and I don’t even know his name but if I ever feel his skin against my own I think I might faint.
    ___

In which Professor Steve Rogers finds himself flustered beyond belief by James Barnes, one of his new third-year students, captain of the hockey team, and the biggest flirt on campus.

    Summary

“I learned so much about Captain America in high school and earlier on here at NYU, and never once… God, I mean, I know why, but it still irritates me that no one bothered to mention Captain America was queer.”

There’s an immediate uproar after that, one guy in particular practically yelling, “Oh, come the hell on!”

Or the one where Bucky's college class has an entire debate about Captain America's sexuality without realizing he's in the room.
