For the first time in his life, taking a risk paid off. Corroded Coffin shot to the top of the charts in a matter of months. Their concept album may have been inspired by Hawkins, but Eddie never had to think about that awful fucking town again.
Or at least, not for three years.
In 1989, after the last show of Corroded Coffin's "Nails in the Coffin" tour, its frontman finds himself speeding down the highway from Indianapolis back to Hawkins. Back home. To save the people who saved him back in spring of 1986.
He arrives just in time to see Steve Harrington rise into the air.

I feel like I'm about to have a panic attack--really, my hands are actually, literally shaking and I keep having to fix typos--but I don't mean that in a bad way. This was just so familiar. It hit too close to home. If anyone wants to see what my relationship with my parents is like, enjoy this fic. Down to the boxes. Just...add a note that they've also threatened to throw those boxes away because they, too, take up too much space.

He'd much rather be at home, on his couch, playing video games with Prompto than attempting to feign interest in anything these stodgy Gala attendees had to say. What an utter waste of what could be a perfect Friday night. But Noctis is the Prince and must attend anyways. But for this particular event, Ignis has taken the liberty of inviting a surprise plus-one.

Most well-written Klance fic I've ever read. The parallels, the setups and payoffs, the unity... I'm so glad the author came back and finished this puppy despite leaving the fandom. This is the real shit. I was kind of jealous in some places because this feels like something I'd write, but I didn't. It deserves more love, though, for sure.

Went into this expecting a Klance story where Keith was also a father, turned out to be a "Keith is a father" story with a side of Klance. And you know what? I wasn't disappointed.

“Well, we are sneaking out,” Lance says, “and we’re lying about where you’re gonna be the next few hours. If we really wanted to be accurate I’d have thrown pebbles at your window and you’d have climbed down a tree.” He’s walking a little ahead of Keith, so he glances back at him, frowning. “If Kolivan’s in charge of the base, does this make him your dad in this scenario?”
“I think he’s too old for that,” Keith says. They round a corner, tiptoe down another hallway. “Maybe he’s the grandpa.”
In which Keith finds time in the midst of defending the universe to live out some of the tropes of a corny teenage romance.
