Summary
The relationship between the two Leaders had begun and ended strained, tense, and bitter. Teenagers sworn under oath for their faith turn into adults with jaws more suited to predators than human beings– this is what they were made for, and this is what they had become. God’s chosen ones, blessed children grown into prophets and oracles, mouthpieces for the divine. They were always similar, but never the same. Always just out of reach for equal footing.
But it wasn't like that the whole time.

Summary
There’s one truth to life. Fate is predetermined and it is cruel.
Lexx’s parents had always been hard on her. They promise her from a young age that it’s because she’s destined for greatness, her tiny, pudgy hand in her mother’s as she is led out into rows and rows of chairs, dressed in black and white robes for the ritual they would hold that very night. Her father tells her, in that rough, too-firm voice of his, that it’s a special occasion. It’s an important day. He’s smiling.
She’s five years old when she sees blood spilt intentionally for the very first time.
OR: An exploration on The Family and their customs, viewed through the life of a girl who thought she was always destined for greatness under her god's following. Aka, exploring Lexx's childhood.

Summary
Spending years dead and gone in an eternal realm with only the faintest signs of god and a carrier’s blood spilt in trails gives you plenty of time to think. Years stuck in the cycle of rubbing raw, scarred wrists, panging with hunger and yet no desire to eat weighing heavy. Years wondering how much could have been changed, what went wrong, what the plan had really been. Years of only the slightest numbing, the barest of whispers heard through monsters in the woods, back-up food for god and doomed to the eternal wandering it was. Before then, as well. Months in the dark waiting to die. Wondering if a loose tongue and a change was worth a life lived.
But Sean had no regrets, now. He steps up onto the stage and begins the ceremony.

Aelita ends up winning. Jeremy curses under his breath but takes the loss, tossing a dirty look to William as he teases and laughs, ruffling both of the player’s hair in a movement that ends up with him falling off the bed anyways and getting laughed at in return. Sure. Maybe the time wasted was worth it.

Summary
There’s a few truths in this world. One is that there is nothing you can escape when it comes to fate. He knew this, this hard pill to swallow, it was the worst thing granted from his induction. You cannot change what will happen, so you must follow all the rules, ensure your time in the fourth world. Fate is a damning thing, the prophecies tell this. The vast ocean of knowledge that dooms you already knows when and where you will die. Another truth, far more personal, and significantly less important: he was fairly certain he was going to die, too.
or: Jesse attends Greg's funeral, certain everyone can see right through him. No one does.
