Summary

Summary
“You know,” he says, “there’s an old story I once read, about how the fire of a Volcarona can replace the sun. That’s what we wanted, right? To be so powerful that we could be the sun.”
Volcarona chirps softly and leans against his arm.
In the end, when it happens, Alder is both right and wrong; the quietness that eventually comes is strangely hollow. “This’ll be a nice spot,” he says to himself as he considers where the best place for a grave would be.
After the death of his Volcarona, Alder wanders. Written for Hall of Fame, a Pokemon fanzine.
