Summary
In the years after the world almost ended and then didn't, Steve and Eddie go from strangers to lovers to friends. Along the way, Steve learns that he likes to take care of Eddie, and Eddie learns how to let himself be cared for.
Or: Eddie knows he likes the idea of being submissive, Steve stumbles into soft-domming, and Robin hears far too much about their sex life.
(Eddie's POV in Part 1; Steve's POV in Part 2.)

Summary
But then Eddie saw a whole pile of kids get in Harrington’s car, and he overheard Nancy Wheeler say that “Steve was babysitting,” and that image didn’t even remotely align with anything Eddie knew about King Steve “The Hair” Harrington, but he figured he didn’t know much, anyway, and it wasn’t any of his business, when it came down to it.
Eddie thought so little of it, in fact, that he had almost forgotten that Max had apparently been babysat by one Steve Harrington. That is, until Steve Harrington started showing up at the trailer park, picking up Max and driving away, and then Eddie wouldn’t see Max at home again for days on end.
Eddie didn’t know much about babysitting, but he was pretty sure the gigs were more of an hourly thing.

Or: Steve takes care of everyone, but Eddie takes care of him.

Summary
Steve just wanted to do something nice for a friend, he doesn't mean to get Eddie's ring stuck on his finger, and it's definitely not his fault that everyone he knows is jumping to conclusions.

Summary
It starts like this: Steve, waiting in his car to pick up Dustin and friends from a session of their Chutes and Ladders club or whatever. Waiting kind of impatiently, to be honest, even though it’s not like he has anywhere else to be because Robin’s busy tonight and, as he well knows by this point, saving the world doesn’t get you a girlfriend or glory or even a second age-appropriate friend, it just gets you another evening shift at Family Video and a long personal to-do list.
In the spring and summer of 1986, Steve Harrington contends with the biases of the day, hatches several plans, and finally really gets to know Eddie Munson.
