Suddenly, a slight tremor shoots through the floor. Silence filled the originally bustling mall. A tremor with ten times the amount of power then the first rips through the hushed mall like a bolt of lightning striking through a seemingly clear summers night.
Dust from the ceiling rains down on the shoppers.
Pieces started to fall.

so does another person.
Rays of sunshine drift through the newly found holes in the ceiling. holes? when-
Everbodys screaming
The grounds shaking
Children are crying
Structurally built cement crumbles
Bodies are crushed
Blood sprays
People sob as they await certain death covered in the remaining flesh of their loved ones
It was a trip
A trip down to hell

“Good morning, Sleeping Beauty,” Dustin snarks. He rolls his eyes and heaves himself out of the passenger side of the bimmer, slamming the door behind him. He sticks his head through the passenger window, offering Steve a sarcastic sneer. “Have a good nap?”
Steve smacks his lips and swallows hard, but the odd metallic taste doesn’t leave his mouth. Dustin huffs at his lack of response and smacks the flat of his palm against the side of the car. Usually, Steve would reprimand him for that, tell the kid something about the paint job, or dents, but Dustin storms out of Steve’s sight before he can catch up to the situation. Steve’s slumped over the steering wheel, letting it press into the side of his face and his ribs, a radiating ache, but he knows the moment he moves, the pain will flare into something sharp and unbearable.

Sero wakes up by inches.
He’s too hot. That’s the first thing he notices. He’s soaked in sweat, and the heat pressing in on him is practically a physical thing — a humid fist clenched around his body, squeezing the air from him with every gasping breath he tries to take.
He can’t move. That’s the second thing.
A weekend mall trip becomes a fight for survival when Sero and five of his classmates are kidnapped. Sedated and restrained, they are unable to free themselves when the truck transporting them crashes, leaving them stranded inside under the midday sun. With the temperature rising and no way to call for help, they struggle against time and their own deteriorating conditions as they try to get out alive.
