Summary
Stede’s first kiss was perfect.
It sucks. It has fucked him over. Set the bar too high. No other kisses have measured up since that first one.
Well, except later kisses with that same person.
***
Stede is lucky enough that his super cool best friend, Ed, is willing to teach him how to kiss. It's going to take years for him to realize why exactly it never feels just as good with anyone else.Bookmarked by MrsRochester

Summary
The day they get married, the things he knows about Stede could fit on a post-it note.
First: he’s fucking rich.
Second: he needs a husband to stay that way.
Third: he is built like a brick shithouse. Pretty eyes, nice hair. Penchant for weird socks.
(Or: 5 times Ed doesn't tell his husband he loves him, and 1 time he does.)

Summary
Stede huffs, frustrated, then turns away again, his handsome face in profile as his eyes scan the ocean, finding the sun on the horizon. After an agitated beat, practically vibrating, skin thrumming under Ed’s hands, he tells him, “I’m in season.”
Ed hesitates, trying to process what that means. At a loss, he ends up asking, “What?”
“In— In season, my fertility season. It’s like— like a—” Stede stammers, apparently at a loss for words.
Grappling, Ed offers, excited, “Like an animal in heat?”
The color that Stede blushes then is beautiful, the same pearl-pink that flushes his gorgeous merperson pussy when he’s underwater. Ed knows he’s hit the mark dead-on, and his stomach twists, cock throbbing against his thigh.
“It’s embarrassing,” Stede says, voice low.
“It’s hot,” Ed argues— insists. “Stede— Is that why you’re fucking around like this all the time?” He doesn’t need a verbal answer; the deepening of Stede’s pink flush is answer enough.
