Claude’s not sure what he expects after Worlds, but it’s not the silence he actually receives. The last time he saw Sidney Crosby, he’d just finished kissing him on a bench in Prague. That was in May, and now it’s October and the two of them haven’t exchanged a single word, not in person, not over the phone, not even via text. It probably doesn’t help that they never exchanged contact information, but if Sidney wanted Claude’s number, there were people he could ask. To be fair, Claude supposes he could do the same, but in his mind, he made the first move. It’s up to Captain Canada to decide what comes next.
The answer to that is, apparently, nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Post the 2015 Worlds, Claude takes matters into his own hands.

Summary
There were very few moments in his life where Jack Hughes would admit he chickened out. Throughout his 24 short years of being alive, he’d done some pretty fearless shit. He’d climbed to the very top of the oak tree in their backyard when he was 7, he survived Quinn ripping out his braces at age 12...he was a first overall draft pick at 18, for christ's sake! After everything he’d seen and done, nothing should scare him.
Which leads him to this moment. His current predicament. Shaking like a leaf in a fancy restaurant, on the verge of shitting bricks while he tries to muster up the courage to propose to the love of his life. It’s quite possibly the most ridiculous Jack’s ever felt.

“I fucking told you so many times,” Nate says, still laughing and crying. “How many times did I tell you to get a new phone? More than I can even fucking count. But -”
“I like the button,” Sid frowns. “The newer ones don’t have the button.”
“The newer ones have software updates,” Nate says.
“I’m doing just fine running iOS whatever on my iPhone 8,” Sid argues. They talk about this a lot. Nate usually complains about Sid’s phone because it’s old.
“Yeah, well, it turns out, iOS 11 stopped getting security updates back in 2018,” Nate says.
Sid rolls his eyes. “I have a password on my phone and I’m very careful not to lose it.” He’s not lying, either. He loves his phone, and it’s hard to find the ones with the button nowadays. If he loses it, he’ll have to get one of the ones without a button, and that seems like a true nightmare.
“Your phone is connected to the internet,” Nate sighs. His tone of voice is still slightly hysterical, but also as though he’s talking to a particularly stubborn, stupid five-year-old kid. “People can hack it easily because it’s connected to the internet and you haven’t updated the software since 2018.”
