And one pale, thin scar adorning each cheek.

He can’t say he was expecting any sort of company this morning—today marks the start of the year’s end for many people, and almost all of them are headed back to warm families, familiar houses and old friends.
All Yuuji has to come back to is his one-room apartment and the occasional neighborhood cat who visits for food and affection. He doesn’t have much else to his name—just what little is left of Wasuke’s life savings and an old picture album with torn-up photographs—so Yuuji was more or less expecting to spend the holidays completely alone.
But despite the emptiness of his family registry and the New Year’s cards that never seem to amount to more than three, Yuuji has never had the chance to feel alone.
He still has that stray his granddad picked up off the streets.

Quant resists the urge to facepalm when Strawberry's voice drops into a seductive(?) growl—they still have a plane to pilot, after all (“No we don’t, George is in control!”)—and just settles for rolling his eyes instead. “Sounds like a sure-fire way to land yourself in the middle of a lawsuit,” he remarks, watching her make obnoxious finger guns at herself in the glass. "Are you planning on taking the two hundred or souls in the cabin with you?"
“Oh, so today's day you decided to be a killjoy?” Strawberry scoffs. "I thought you were supposed to be the fun one, Chickadee." She leans back in her chair and furrows her brow at him. “You can’t tell me you’ve never thought of flirting over comms before,” she continues incredulously. "You wouldn't even be talking to a stranger—your boyfriend works in ATC tower for God's sake."
Quant shoots her a mild smile and just clears his throat. “Your descent speech, captain?” he prompts, checking his notes.
“Aahh alright, fine.” Strawberry sits up with a scowl and pulls her headset on. “Let’s get this goddamn show on the road.”

Yuuji can feel the rouge on the tips of his fingers drying as he stares at the onnagata standing in the doorway of his dressing room. He knows he doesn’t have time to gape—not when their stage play is in less than an hour and he hasn’t even donned on his courtesan robes—but he just can’t tear his eyes away.
Then he hears Sukuna’s voice, unimpressed and disdainful, cut through the tension in the room and feels humiliation rush to his cheeks in an unflattering shade of red.

Personable and kind, with just the tiniest streak of mischief—what else could explain the little twinkle in Haruichi’s eye when he invited Eijun out to watch the summer’s newest horror flick with him? Eijun didn’t really like watching scary movies on their theatrical release (the dark room, loud speakers, and enormity of the big screen somehow made the film-going experience ten times scarier than it needed to be), but he could tough one out if it meant spending some quality time with his best friend!
…or at least, that was what Eijun told himself until he and Haruichi hopped off the train and started making their way over to the theater. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but…
There was just something about Haruichi today that wouldn’t stop making Eijun’s heart flutter in his chest.
