Summary
There’s a man bleeding on the lobby couch. Which, okay, Grantaire has to admit, isn’t actually all that uncommon. The lobby couches have seen more than their fair share of vomit, beer, and various bodily fluids. The difference is that this time the one doing the bleeding isn’t one of the usual suspects, which is to say that instead of a slightly smelly and sweaty teenager covered in spikes, the man on the shitty vinyl couch smells like cologne and looks almost proper, his unconscious body blanketed by a comfortable-looking red jacket.
or: The one where Enjolras getting kicked in the face off-screen is pretty damn crucial to the plot

Summary
“Well,” Ray says, flippant, “I was thinking I’ll tell her something like, ‘hi, Mom, I missed you to death, meet the guy who saved me from a science fiction time vortex where we both got shot to death a bunch of times, sometimes he sticks his tongue in my mouth and I let him.’”
Ray and Pete have just started putting their lives together in Ottawa. And then Ginnie shows up.

Summary
Pete feels... itchy. Restless. He's been on the move for so long that even this well needed rest feels wrong. It feels dangerous. It is dangerous. The more you move, the less people look at you. The less they look, the safer you are.
So, the four weeks he's spent living at the Garraty house feels like forever. He still feels like an intruder.
It's time, he decides, to give it up. Ray doesn't love him, not in the way he wants him to. It's time to do what he does best and move on.
So why won't Ray let him?

Summary
Henry returns to Rattay after many months away, and Heinrich sees the side of his father that loves.
“Henry!”
Three heads rise to the balcony, where Heinrich’s father is leaning over the balusters looking down. The chill wind pulls at the loose ends of his hair and the gaping collar of his tunic, though he shows no reaction to the cold. He’s almost never up this early — grousing if he’s woken before noon — but his eyes are wide awake now, fixed on Henry alone.
Heinrich senses himself shrinking back into the shape of a child, small and wet and instantly forgotten. He bristles with disappointment. Henry is beyond him now. And the courtyard, the village, the knights, the rain, his mother. All are secondary to Lord Hans Capon, who only has to call his name.

Summary
When Henry swings off of Pebbles in the courtyard of Pirkstein, dusty with travel and tired from the road, it is not his lord, or even his lady, who greets him first.
“Hal!” Heinrich, his little child-voice high and excitable, outruns his nurse as he dashes to Henry. “Hal, Hal, Hal!”
