Summary
The guilt was crushing. It never stopped. It always rushed at him in small moments, now. Everything wasn’t fine, and he had lied to Watson, lied straight to his face. Sometimes he could hear the sobs, envision the movement of them wrenching out of his chest, feel the choking breaths trying to escape beneath his hands. Sherlock had held him. He said nothing, aside from a barely murmured apology as he rocked him back and forth and held him.
There was a thick, cloying feeling in his throat, words that were more feeling than sound. The grief would never shut off; sometimes it was just there, so suddenly, and he wasn’t even nearly as affected as his doctor. He felt so much regret. If he hadn’t clung onto John so much, hadn’t dragged him away from her, he would’ve had more time with her. What made it so terribly painful was that John didn’t blame him at all. Not even in the slightest. Sure, he recognized it, and he ached, but he has never resented Sherlock for it.

Sometimes Tommy needed the quiet.
To be honest, he’s always hated it; he needed to fill it with his chatter and laughter and taunts until it was gone. But sometimes he needed it. Sometimes he needed to tell Tubbo to just go away for a couple hours. Sometimes if anyone touched him he’d go back to the abyss again- and there would be Schlatt, and Wilbur, and Mexican Dream, and he’d feel everything and nothing, and it was horrible. And sometimes he’d be back in the prison. Back in that cell with Dream, and he could feel the blood running down his face and neck and back and he could hear the laughter.
