John sighs, and somehow, he sounds more tired than Arthur feels. Arthur. You don't even know why you're arguing with me. I can tell when you're arguing for a point, and just arguing to appear right. Just let me have the damn slug, please.
Arthur grumbles under his breath - some truly venomous swears that John promptly ignores - and melts into a yawn. He's still tense all over, but at this point, Arthur's natural state is tense.
"For fucks sake- fine. Whatever. Damn it all to hell. Take the thing."
John sounds so smug when he replies that if he had a face, it would be gone from how hard Arthur would've slapped him.
See? It wasn't that hard. Now, let's walk home and get you in the shower. You're starting to attract flies.

John loathed high school the first time. He could never understand the rules people expected him to follow, so the thought of going back–willingly–even to work as a sound tech for a school he’s never stepped foot in is-
Well, it feels like he’s lost somehow. Lost what? John doesn’t know. But it feels like by going into that building and spending his evenings there, he’s somehow failed.
or John is a broke techie, so he takes a job at the local high school, helping in the sound booth and teaching students more about it. Arthur Lester is a single dad whose daughter is in her last year of high school, and her theater department needs a new pianist for their fall musical.
