The bartender winks at Steve when he slides his drink over, extra wedge of lime on top (which causes Steve to blush like a fucking virgin, and he hates himself for it). What is it about this guy that flusters him so easily? Maybe it's the effortless way he rules his domain behind the bar; confident and boisterous, his clever, dextrous fingers skimming the bottles as he pulls them from the shelves to mix drinks.
Steve’s distracted, watching him. The more he drinks, the more he stares.
The more Robin eyes him, warily.---
steve, robin, and a bucketload of unresolved tension walk into a bar (eddie and chrissy pine on the clock, gareth watches it unfold with minimal griping). everything stays unresolved until steve gets hit on, and eddie steps in as the world's best fake boyfriend <3

Steve blinks at her bemusedly, and then she points out beyond the pool- where Eddie Munson sits in the grass, smiling lazily as El and little Holly Wheeler adorn him in daisy chains, giggling as he bows to each of them, adjusting his flowery crown.
Steve groans, face in his palms.
“Yeah,” he laughs dryly, “if only Eddie was a chick, huh?”

“He won’t,” said Chloe with confidence. “I know Dan. I lived with him for ten years. He’s as straight as they get, and even if he was secretly into men he wouldn’t be into you, and he’s still in mourning for Charlotte. He’s the perfect test case, someone with no reason whatsoever to want to sleep with you. If you proposition him, and he turns you down, I’ll know you haven’t been taking advantage of people, and we can move on from there.”

Not like the elves in Lord of the Rings, no. They had a relatively average lifespan for magical beings, but as long as their hearts were secure, they couldn’t be killed. The only thing they had to take care of was their essence; this tiny ball of light following them around, pulsing with everything they were, had been and would be. Their heart.
It seemed a relatively easy task: Just take care of your heart and you’ll be fine.
But Eddy’s heart had always been a source of trouble. Running off without his consent, getting mixed up in bad situations, getting attached to random strangers or playing hide and seek. Just all around being a pain.
Belle was the first one to notice something was amiss this evening.
“Eddy, where’s your heart?” she asked.
“I lost it,” he mumbled.
“You what?”
“I lost it,” he repeated, blushing harder. “It got lost in someone’s sleeve and I couldn’t get it back. It didn’t want to come back with me.”
And Belle, being the supportive sister she was, burst out laughing and ran down the stairs.
“Mum! Mum! You won’t believe this!”
