Eddie doesn’t even bother turning around to check. It’s definitely Buck. He must’ve finished checking over the kitchen with Williams. Eddie can feel his stare even whilst facing the opposite direction. He tucks the last bit of bandage securely around Alistair’s wrist.
“Yeah that’s him,” Eddie says fondly. “He gets like that sometimes, don't mind him.”
Or, Buck is trying very hard not to think about his newly-out best friend, and he certainly isn't jealous of the attention Eddie’s been getting on calls.

I know that I know how to do this, because you taught me, but I was- I was hoping maybe you’d- tie it for me?” He holds his breath, trying to keep his face neutral, like that would keep Bobby from knowing how much this meant to him, but his Captain knows him all too well at this point.
He smiles, soft and fond. “I’d love to, Buck.”

It was a regular day, nothing special about it, really. Buck fell asleep on the couch while they were watching a movie after a long shift, and he woke up to a blanket covering him and the sound of Eddie humming quietly from the kitchen. When Buck walked out to him, he saw him dancing along to music playing through headphones, doing the dishes. He was happy, practically glowing. He hates headphones, but he’d put them on to avoid waking Buck, and that was it. Buck stood there in the doorway and told Eddie everything. How he felt, how he’d been waiting until the time was right, how he didn’t expect Eddie to feel the same but he just had to put it out there, couldn’t keep this a secret between them.
And Eddie might have been surprised at first, but he felt the same.
He feels the same.
And today, finally, after so long, they’re going on a date.
Their first date.
His last first date, if Buck has any say in the matter.

This earned him a long, extended sigh in response. Buck didn’t say anything, giving the guy a chance to say more if he wanted to.
The silence stretched, interrupted only by a muffled announcement for another flight.
“The other guy… He’s spending Christmas with my girlfriend. Big, lumberjack type—I barely got a swing in before he decked me, and she ran to patch him up.”
Buck winced. “Guess there’s something in the air, then. I went to visit my girlfriend at a market she was working at, and found her with the guy who runs the inn and the gingerbread stand.”
“Jesus. Mine was a Christmas tree farmer in her hometown, but… Yeah. I’m Eddie, by the way.”
Or: Buck and Eddie meet at the airport after their respective girlfriends live their Hallmark movie dreams and dump them right before Christmas.

Buck pushes Eddie back and he tumbles, hitting the dining table and catching himself on the table top. Buck’s eyes are zeroed in on Eddie, his focus burning, his gaze electrifying. Eddie immediately feels a slight tightness in his jeans.
"What. Was. His. Name" he asks again, his eyes darker still, pupils blown wide. Eddie's heart jumps at the sight, still slightly leaned back. His breath quickens as Buck looks down at him angrily. Furiously.
Hungrily.
