    Daryl has never had much praise or comfort in his life. When the group starts thanking him for the things that he does, he has no idea how to take it, brushes it off, acts like he doesn't want it or like it, but secretly he yearns for it, especially from Rick as the leader of their rag-tag group. Most of the group don't notice the small looks Daryl gives Rick, the small gestures that he does just to get a word of praise or a look of recognition, but Shane does. And he will use that to his advantage by any means necessary.

    However, there was no option to be some lazy side character that opened a cafe or sold flowers to pass the time, or to replace the protagonist like some novels. After all, I became none other than the Iceberg Prince, Kuchiki Byakuya!

    Well, at least I didn't end up as cannon fodder or worse, a villain.

     

    (Some people get all the luck. They are reborn with Plot Armor, others get an Overpowered System with women fawning over them. Me? I'm just a side character with more duties than hot men after me...)

    Asano Gakushu didn’t know what to expect when he jumped off the bridge. He thought it would all just end. The pain. The sinking feeling of uselessness.
    The abuse.
    He did not expect to come face to face with the ghost of the same boy who jumped off this very bridge a decade ago.

    “Hey, Asano Jr. C‘mon, take a seat. I’ve been waiting for you. Let’s have a chat before I send you back.” A bright faced Ikeda chirps.

    There’s a pause. He stares. His knees are shaky.

    “Wait. Send me back?” He feels a pang of fear run through him, “No. Please. Don’t—I can’t go back there—“

    “One year ago. That’s when it all started going downhill, for you, didn’t it? I’m sending you back one year. And maybe you can save more lives than just yours.”

    Then another voice speaks up, echoing Gakushu’s thoughts, “Ikeda, I’m perfectly fine being dead. I’ve told you there’s no need—“

    Gakushu turns to see a yellow octopus. The Yellow Octopus. He sinks to his knees.

    He thought his life was a mess, who knew death was worse?

    —Gakushu gets a chance to redo the last year of his life. With one simple decision, it leads him on a completely different path. And just maybe, that’s not entirely a bad thing.
