Generally i consider the concept of the genre of isekai or whatever to be somewhat... boring? At least, before i became familiar with this story.
Mary - the storyteller - is such a interesting character. A coward and a liar, everything i find distasteful in a person.
Which of course,
Left me ENTHRALLED.I cant reccomend reading the story and associated media enough. It has excellent characters and themes. It has excellent world building. It has excellent pacing and prose.

A, frankly, incredible work. Pacing seems really quick at first but there are so many details packed into the short lines creating an incredible feeling of just not being able to make out a MUCH wider picture. It comes off that any and all questions DO have answers, you just aren't going to get all of them.
It really benefits from multiple reads, you'll pick up many little things that you will inevitably miss on a first read.
