The break-up with Hermione still fresh, Ron got into training a bit early that day. Harry was standing there, grinning and shining and being his usual, easily heroic self.
“Hey, Ron, what’s up, mate?” said Harry,
“Nothing. Just. I don’t know that I want to do this?” He said it like it was a question, but it really wasn’t. “I don’t want to do this,” he said, and as the words left his mouth he knew they were a truth he had buried for a long time. Harry didn’t even look surprised, just a little resigned.
“Yeah. I had a feeling,” he said.
So after quitting on the spot, Ron went back to George’s and fell face first onto the sofa, groaned out loud and said “What in the hell am I going to do with my life?”
“Beats me,” said the throw pillow he’d landed on, which featured the photo portrait of a strange bleach blond Muggle with terrible facial hair. “Go have a sandwich. You’ll feel better.”
So he did. And he did.The story of how a Muggle tv personality and an ex's new fiance both conspired to get Ron the life he never knew he always wanted.

No, no, it was because if Ron didn’t manage to speak then Draco would find out from the Daily Prophet that Ron had died in a back alley after being hit by a curse from a Death Eater. If Ron didn’t somehow tell Harry the truth now, Draco would never know how he truly felt. Because Draco had made Ron swear to not tell his loved ones they were dating—not yet, not until Draco was ready. And Ron had agreed. But now, as he lay dying on a sidewalk in some random Muggle town, Ron rather wished he would’ve broken that particular promise.
When Ron doesn't return home from a mission as expected, Draco has to swallow his pride and figure out what happened to him.

Ron thinks, for a horrible long moment, that this is some sort of pity thing after he basically confessed his undying love to Draco the night before, half kneeling on the hospital bed like they were the main actors in a Muggle romcom and this is him letting Ron down gently as not to break his treacherous heart.
Luckily, when he glances up Draco's eyes are shut tightly as though if he isn't able to see Ron, his little confession can be ignored.- This is about healing (in every sense possible), writing music, dying one's hair, growing up and having community dinners every other day with dozens of twenty-something barely adults. And Freddie Bowie, Draco Malfoy's pet pigeon lovingly named after Sir Elton John.
