“See, look, it’s fine. I’m not here to hurt you, Tommy.” There was something new about Dream’s voice, something that sent a chill down Tommy’s spine colder than any cell could ever be. There was a weakness to it, one that seemed foreign. His voice was hoarse, his tone quiet in the way of a sick man, not a manipulative one. And he was desperate, Tommy could tell that alone from his tone. He’d always been desperate; it leaked into every word he said, no matter how hard he tried to mask it, but the sheer lack of effort in hiding it felt wrong. “I don’t- I don’t want to have to hurt you. I still have some affairs I need to put in order, y’know, before we leave, and then we can be a real family like I’ve always wanted. And I won’t leave you, not like Wilbur, I’m- I’m-“ Dream awkwardly trailed off. Now, that was strange, too. Dream always had these big speeches planned when he fucked with him. He was never this unsure.
“It’s just three weeks, okay? Three weeks.”

Summary
An anthology for the short prompts for the November of 2023 on r/fanfiction, revolving around short character studies. (Knowing me, short will be relative, but they should all be under 2000 words at least). Each revolves around c!Tommy and c!Dream, and each story can be read on its own. More detailed descriptions and warnings in each stories description, tags are just generally what to expect.

Summary
An anthology of 31 fics focusing on c!Tommy and c!Dream's messed up friendship, based on the prompts from the AIless Whumptober blog. Individual summaries and warnings are in the notes for each fic, though fair warning that the tagged ones are in all/most of them. Each fic is between 1000-2000 words. I do not apologise for the title.

Summary
Tommy was used to being Dream’s punching bag.
That was what he really was, more than an assistant. It’s not like Dream ever let him make actual decisions- he had to fucking beg for the slightest changes. He was Dream’s emotional support hostage, there to be a constant presence, someone to talk to, to spend time with, to take anger out upon.
They all had their scars from the experiments, he supposed. Dream did not spare himself from their agony, and the constant fear of being alone, how he clung onto Tommy like a rag doll, his frequent rages and equally frequent depressive periods… there was something fundamentally altered from the old Dream there, traits that were once present but manageable ramped up to the point he’d once had to try and figure out how to calm him down from a panic attack after he’d left for ten minutes to go and fetch documents.
That was the biggest secret Tommy knew. Even Dream was not happy with what he created.

Or, c!Dream achieves his big happy family yet does not fill the void in his heart. c!Tommy, always the first to suffer his wrath, is also the only one to know this secret. An examination on a very dark idea of a c!Dream victory.

Summary
Even in his sleep, Tommy was never at peace.
Curled up against the dark walls of his bunker, he hugged the old viridian cloak from his exile close to him in lieu of a blanket, shivering. He thrashed violently, kicking out and whimpering as if he was fighting an invisible enemy in his dreams. At times, he screamed, at others, he sobbed violently, but wracked with exhaustion and self-medicated by the potions he took in excess, he was unable to wake even despite the evident distress he was in.
It’d be a stretch for Dream to say he felt guilty, exactly. He had to admit, it was an amusing sight, and it warmed his heart to see him keeping the cloak he’d given him in exile. Seeing him desperately swaddle himself in it to stymie the screaming fits he’d had trying to sleep before was a mix of satisfying and sweet, and the fact it worked was utterly adorable- the little brat still cared about him deep down, he supposed. He could still be saved.

Summary
The idea of being alone again after so long felt like an agony scarring through them, corrupting the land themself. No, they would never let their first real friend, one who was separate from themselves, yet respected every part of them and not just their admin puppet, out of its grasp. Not ever.
Vaguely, it recognised the bubbling feeling in their core as the ones it had read described in the books it had used as substitutes for companionship. Ones mortals felt for their young, a mentor to their protege, an older sibling to a younger. A mix of affection, responsibility, pride, and the admiration one felt towards a lesser- like how Tommy cooed over how cute half the animals he came across were when he thought nobody was watching.
(But Dream always was. They saw everything, every inch of the server, since they were every inch of it, but their focus was always on the kindness and respect the mortal showed.)

Or, Dream is an admin of the server, and has been for billions of years. Tommy is its favourite mortal, yet it doesn’t exactly know the best way to show that.

Summary
A collection for all thirty-one Whumptober prompts I hope to do (might be a la'al bit late on some of the latter ones, sorry). While almost each one takes place in a different universe, or point in canon, each one deals with c!Dream and c!Tommy and their complex dynamic, along with similar themes of twisted family and friendship, so I thought they’d all fit nicely into a single work! Detailed trigger warnings on each one-shot, but please take note of the Dead Dove tag. It applies to all of these.
