Although her relationship with John Silver started more positively, as they begin to work together more - including weathering the loss of Silver - Madi has gained appreciation for Captain Flint. He as for her too. She finds that he is much more aligned politically with her than previously believed.
'Cause finally the tables are starting to turn
As the War continues, Madi never loses faith, but having a steadfast partner and fellow visionary by one's side never hurts moral, either.

Summary
When she shuts her eyes, Miranda hears the terrible click of a gun misfiring and James’ wretched cry; smells the acrid gunpowder; feels the weight of the small paring knife leave her hand to embed itself in Peter Ashe’s eye. Then there is the awful aftermath. James’ equally surprised and horrified expression as he stares at her face, splattered with foreign blood— his slowly spreading manic grin and choked laugh upon realizing that she’s uninjured. The subsequent mad dash from the manor. If the last vestiges of Miranda’s old life were embers, they’d been used up after that.
Miranda survives the Charles Town confrontation with her belief in the possibility of reconciliation with Civilization shattered. The Walrus crew are still becalmed. The Maroons still agree to an alliance. The future impact of her presence and new outlook, however, remains to be seen.

Summary
There is no noticeable transition aside from the sudden cessation of all bodily agonies. He opens his eyes and finds himself in a landscape of soft nothingness. The man formerly known as Darth Vader has no expectations about what the afterlife might hold for him. Even so, he is still shocked when Padmé appears.
This is their reunion.
Takes place after Anakin's death but before the ROTJ scene where he's a Force-Ghost.

Summary
The warning signs have all been / bright and garish / far too great in number to ignore.
Padmé, despite what certain political opponents may claim, is not a woman prone to naivete. Nor is she blindly optimistic. However, she does believe a better future for the galaxy is possible; it simply requires the right allies and a commitment to the grueling work. All that said, she is not unaware of the strain Anakin is under and how it seems to be pushing him closer and closer to some kind of psychological edge.
But I will walk down to the end / with you / if you will come all the way / down with me.
As always, Anakin does it all for Padmé.

Summary
The cowl was little more than shreds held together by aspirations and a prayer. Which shouldn't have been that bad if not for the fact that this was the backup—this was the second cowl to suffer this fate on that day.
Bruce stared at the two halves of the last cowl he had had in storage on the Watchtower in disgruntlement. This would not be an issue if he were in the cave–where he had plenty of replacements. Which didn't help the fact that the cowl in his hands was unsalvageable.

After his cowl breaks in a fight Bruce is forced to attend the debriefing with a domino mask instead. He comes to regret it.

Summary
Going on 36 hours without sleep while trying to solve a case, Bruce goes outside to clear his head. An (expected) visitor arrives.

Bruce would take Dick and Jason out there years back. Early in the mornings, when the sun was beginning to crest over the horizon and the grass was covered in dew. In the summertime Dick would joke about swimming in the pond. Once Jason actually pushed him in. A shaky sigh escaped him, eyes closed. His head pounded. He didn’t deserve them.There was a whoosh in the air. Bruce opened his eyes and saw the pond rippling, the surface of it touched by a foot. A floating foot. Another sigh. He began to massage his temples. Hallucinations weren’t supposed to occur until 48 hours, which meant Clark was actually floating over his abandoned pond.
He didn’t deserve him.
“You could at least pretend to be happy to see me.”
