“The fuck are you doing?” Kris hisses, fingers reaching out to latch at you before you could pull away. It’s the first time you’ve heard Kris swore. They must be really angry. Like Dad. “What are you, a child?”
At least there's no sign of anything like the hockey stick reappearing.
And hey, you're really mature for being eight! Not a child anymore, if you really thought about it. Just two more years and you’ll be in the double digits like an adult. Like Kris! But you didn’t want to lie to Kris. So you tuck away your complaints and pulse red in agreement.
In which the Soul is a child, and Kris finds out after it tries to comfort them at the end of Chapter Four.

Summary
Kris is really struggling with sleeping given all the "befriending" that's very loudly going on downstairs. The soul isn't particularly thrilled about it either, honestly. Maybe, for once, with both their interests aligned, they can truly work together for once, for the sake of Kris' mental health and a proper, good night's sleep?

Summary
It’s a completely normal day in Ostania for the Forger family, the only downside may be the rainy weather, but that’s nothing they can’t handle. Anya has been taken to school, Yor has made it to her shift at city hall, and Loid has arrived at the general hospital to see his first patient of the day. Everything is proceeding as normal, as it should be.
Which is exactly why when his peaceful workday is interrupted by a scuffle between a young girl and a man mugging her in the alley next to the hospital, he isn’t surprised. What is surprising though, is just how roughed up the girl is despite the man barely having laid hands on her once in the interaction.
Alternatively:
Loid meets the reader on one of the days he actually goes into the hospital to maintain his cover, and spontaneously decides to keep her. How can you blame him? It might help complete the mission.
