Summary
An oversight on the part of Dumbledore leaves Lily Evans dead, James Potter broken, and Harry Potter missing. But he seems to be concerned very little by it, seeing as in the end Voldemort was defeated and that was the goal.
With only a box of polaroids found shoved in the back of his closet as a clue, James has to find his son himself. But when he slowly starts putting the pieces together, he begins to realize that Lily and Harry aren't the only things Dumbledore stole from him.

Summary
Less than a week into the new school year, a loud knock disrupts the quiet of the fourth-year Slytherin boys' dormitory. The last person Regulus expects to find on the other side of the door is his (somewhat) estranged older brother, Sirius, his handsome face bloodied and bruised.
Even more shocking than Sirius's sudden appearance, is his request - if they'd be so kind, could he bunk with them in Slytherin 'for a bit'?
His brother's refusal to explain his abscondence from Gryffindor is irksome, but Regulus lets him in regardless, confident he'll unravel the mystery in due time. After all, Sirius has never been very good at keeping secrets from his younger sibling, and Regulus can be *very* persuasive when he wants to know something.
Unbeknownst to the Black brothers, however, their choices in that moment set off a chaotic chain of events that will have lasting repercussions for The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, and change the trajectory of their lives for good.
