Summary
Nyneve Yada died alone and exhausted after coming home from a ten-hour shift as a DJ at a club. Yet the afterlife looks strangely similar to England in the early 1930s. As she begins to come to terms with her new (after)life, she overhears a conversation between two strangely dressed men about a “charismatic” politician with a tendency to use Avada Kedavra on the children of his political opposition. With the rug pulled out from under her feet for a second time, Nyneve runs back to the hovel she shares with her mother, content to forget the conversation. That night, when the same wizards appear at the door of her home with their friends, she thinks something is wrong. When her mother's screams fill the alley, she knows. After a burst of accidental magic saves her life, Nyneve is back to being a homeless orphan, this time on the run from wizards and stuck in the 1930s. Willing to play the long game to exact her revenge on the 28 purebred dogs, she sets out to bend this world to her will.

Summary
Death was surprised by how quickly his new Master, Harry Potter, was to accept both his status and the cat form they inhabited. Yet, as Death spent time lazing in sun patches with their new Master, they realized that the missing shard of Lord Voldemort's horcrux did more damage than when it was sitting in his soul.
