Sage was not quite sober. That was on them. But that was about it; they were being nothing but helpful and courteous.
And that demon just kept being around them like a fucking cattle fly all the damn time.
Ais seemed to be everywhere, always close enough to be in the way but never actually tripping them. Loud enough to make some annoying comment or two but never actually insulting, or out of place. He walked the tightrope so well it was irritating.
To a point where Sage didn't care about keeping their job anymore as long as they could get rid of their pest.
