“You’re not going without me.”
Richie pauses, hand lodged in the Miscellaneous Garbage Drawer as he tries to land a grasp on their spare key. He needs to start putting it somewhere other than the same drawer they use to store broken lighters and mostly-empty boxes of matches. Somewhere easily accessible, like a key hook. Or maybe one of those little bowls old people use.
“You’re not on the-.”
“I already changed the tickets. You should change your passwords.”
Richie blinks, outraged. “I told you to stop going through my emails!”
Andy gives him a look like yeah, and? which is on-brand, for his kid. “So make better life choices than leaving your phone unlocked and crisis puking at eight in the morning, dude.”
(or, Richie is a single dad and coping okay, right up until Mike Hanlon from Derry calls and shit gets irreversibly fucked.)

There’s an odd lurching sensation in the back of his mind, half remembered: as if some vast piece of machinery is gearing up. He had the same feeling when they first met Ben, and then Bev and Mike; when they built the clubhouse; when they stepped through the door of the house on 29 Neibolt Street. A sense of inevitability, of the world bending itself to some unseen will.
Or: after everything, Richie goes back into the tunnels to bring Eddie home.

Summary
It’s not like Eddie’s completely incapable of putting two and two together. He knows what Bev saw in the deadlights all those years ago. He can guess why Richie was crying in his sleep, and why his first move upon waking up back in the cistern was to tackle Eddie out of the way of something that would definitely have killed him.
Or: Richie saves Eddie, but the nightmares still linger.

“So, are you interested?” Mike asked. “There’s a gala for the opening in a couple of weeks. Thought it might be fun to have a little reunion, not just with my famous friends, but Eddie and Stan too.”
Richie grimaced and considered it. He hadn’t seen Eddie since Derry. There had been more than enough opportunities – trips to New York he had neglected to mention, reunions he had skipped, hangouts that he had scheduled then canceled to keep up the ruse. They were adults. They were busy. Ships in the night.
Pretty pathetic, when you got down to it. How long was Richie going to live his life pretending nothing had changed since getting his memories back? He had killed the clown, felt the heart turn to ashes in his fist himself. So why did he still feel like it was lurking behind every corner?
He thought of Derry, the town that seemed to ooze danger in his memories, imagined it the way Mike spoke about it now. A town trying to heal, trying to do better. It would be pretty pathetic if he let Derry leapfrog him in emotional growth.
“Sure,” Richie said, feeling shaky. “Let’s all go back to Derry. Can’t think of a better way to spend my long weekend.”
