“It’s for you,” Megumi explains, still refusing to look over. His arm is fully extended in the meager space between them now. “To hold. So you can sleep.”
Itadori looks down, bewildered, at Megumi’s tense arm stretched out on the sheets, at his balled fist and the way the rest of his body remains stick-straight. “Seriously?”
Megumi nods. He wills his face into an impassive mask.
“But-”
“You said you can’t sleep unless you’re holding onto something right?” Megumi grits out. “But there’s nothing in here you can cling to. So just hold onto my arm and go to sleep,”
Itadori frowns, the smallest wrinkle forming between his brows. It makes his already tired face look even more exhausted. He’s always like this, Megumi can’t help but think. Constantly worrying about other people. Maybe he should worry about himself more for a change.
Megumi's a light sleeper, and Yuuji needs something to hold.

Summary
“Don’t worry, I won’t keep you waiting for long,” Kugisaki pushes off from the counter, grinning as she clutches the CD case to her chest. She steps towards the door like she’s making to leave, and Maki finds herself feeling strangely disappointed.
Before she can even open her mouth to say goodbye, Kugisaki glances back at her one last time.
“See you around, Music Boy,” She tosses out over her shoulder, fingers fluttering.
And then she winks at her.
Maki’s got her hand up in a half-hearted, confused wave, unsure if she’s ever been winked at before in her life, when she realizes-
Music Boy?
Nobara's got a crush on the hot boy working at a nearby record shop. Maki works at Nanami's record shop, and is very much not a boy.

“Uh, yeah, I did!” He chuckles, running a hand through his hair. Fushiguro opens his mouth like he wants to say something more, but Yuuji barrels forward.
“I mean, the bikini lady was hot, sure, but, uh, also really juvenile, you know?” He blurts out. “And like, I wanted something that was, uh, more… representative of my current interests?” Nailed it.
Fushiguro furrows his brows. “So… you got a poster of Sasuke instead? From Naruto?”
“Mhm!” Yuuji nods aggressively. “Love Sasuke. Can’t get enough of him! I just adore the whole show. And the manga! Such a huge fan! I really enjoy the, uh, extended metaphor about cycles of hate and generational trauma. I eat that stuff up! I just don’t own any of the manga. Or the merch. So, uh-” Yuuji gestures wildly behind him. “- Poster.” he finishes awkwardly.
“... Gotcha.” Fushiguro replies slowly.
Yuuji replaces his bikini model pin-up with a poster of Sasuke from Naruto. Which could mean nothing.

Summary
It’s like this— maybe Megumi has made mistakes in the past, errors in judgement, moved purely on impulse in a way that had a domino effect on Yuuji’s life, dragged him into a world of curses and violence. Maybe if he had the choice to go back, Megumi would be faster, smarter, make better choices and avoid every hospital in Sendai. But he can’t. What’s done is done. What he can do is be there for Yuuji now, when he needs him, so that he’d never have to look over his shoulder and find himself alone.
Just like he said he would.“Okay,” Megumi says, relaxing his hands. He places them on the tabletop in front of him like he’s got nothing to hide, and stares straight ahead at the stove. “If you need help cleaning up your undercut, I can help you trim it. If you want.”
Yuuji goes maddeningly silent for a moment, long enough for Megumi to regret even offering, until he blurts out a delighted “Really?”
Two months after Shinjuku, Megumi helps Yuuji cut his hair.

Summary
“Any reason for the sexuality reminder?” Yuuji half-jokes as he reaches into their kitchen shelf for a jar of peanut butter. Again, they don’t usually talk about stuff like this. Yuuji wracks his brain for any reason Fushiguro might’ve brought it up. Was someone giving Fushiguro a hard time because he was queer? God, he hopes not. But that’s something Fushiguro could probably handle on his own, though Yuuji would one-hundred percent step in if asked.
Or, more likely– did Fushiguro start dating someone? A guy? Or a… non-girl? Yuuji’s not too sure about the terminology. But if Fushiguro is actually seeing someone, that’d be great! Yuuji is fine with it. He is totally, absolutely fine-
“I need you to be my boyfriend,”
Yuuji walks straight into the cabinet door.
Megumi asks Yuuji to be his fake boyfriend in order to get disowned by the Zenins. Yuuji is completely and totally normal about this.

After approximately thirteen seconds of tense silence, Yuuji shrugs. "Eh, I'm not worried. I'll get you over to my place one way or another." He takes a step closer. Gets right up in Megumi's face and smiles as he says, "I look forward to it."
Who does Yuuji think he is, acting so cocky like that? Just deciding that he knows Megumi better than he knows himself. Assuming that because he's persistent and a good chef and confident and hot that Megumi will fold like a house of cards and come over just because he asked. If that's the case, then he certainly has another thing coming.
Megumi makes a decision. He is never setting foot in that apartment again. And he sure as hell won't be going over for dinner.
OR megumi’s neighbor, yuuji, has been pissing him off. he breaks into his apartment to confront him about it. it goes both better and worse than expected.
