“Jesus fucking Christ, Gallagher,” he croaked, not realizing how wide he was grinning until Ian put his large hands on the sides of his face for a second, thumbs brushing the lines of his smile before fluttering back to squeeze his shoulders. Mickey’s own hands were not doing much better, still clutching at elbows, underarms, wrists, whatever they could get in reach.

”I will leave in the morning,” Esca says. He is crouched in front of Marcus, hands idly pulling at the unkept weeds at his feet. Marcus wants to slip off the bench and lower himself to his knees, touch Esca’s cheek the way Esca had touched his on the bank of the river where he thought he would die. Tell him what Esca had told him then. Not a command, but an unshakeable truth.
”I would come with you,” he says instead, knowing that Esca’s mind will not be changed.
Esca leaves in search of his family with a promise to return. He doesn’t. Another post-movie fic.

A while back, I asked people to submit "thank you" prompts in celebration of surpassing 2000 kudos on NTW (THANK YOU!) and I've finally found some time to start writing them.
We had a list of different sentences starting with "thank you", and I asked people submitting a prompt to also specify if they wanted me to write it from a specific POV, and if they wanted it set before, during, or after the main events of NTW. Most of these will be set during and after NTW, as requested, and I will post them in chronological order. For now, I'm only writing the pre- and during NTW prompts, and I will be careful to warn about spoilers once we get to the prompts set after NTW. There isn't perhaps much to spoil, but I cling to the little there is.
Coincidentally, this is happening right now because I unexpectedly felt a feeling about the show ending. So, I will post as many of these as I can this week in some sort of emotionally confused reaction to that. Thank you for being part of this fandom!

When he was first offered the job he was young and reckless, and had still clung to his childhood dream of becoming a space explorer, but now the whole thing has lost some of its glory. No name, no contact with his family, no existence beyond the black suit and shades, Jay thinks he might want more from life than an assigned letter and a kick-ass job.
And maybe it doesn’t help that he keeps having to wipe the memory of the cute EMT who insists on flirting with him every time their paths cross.

Inspired by a tumblr anon who asked ifuckinlikeit for something fluffy and body positive, and this kinda popped up and I figured the more the merrier? Hang on for anomalously's fic though 'cause it's guaranteed excellence and I can't wait to read it myself.

But a quick glance at her phone confirms the unthinkable; her son hasn’t told her about it. There’s no missed call, no unread text. No sweet message or snarky remark. She sits down by the kitchen table and takes a moment to think, to listen to the silence of the house, half expecting her son to amble down the stairs at any second.

I really don't know, I usually write pretty tame things so I don't have to worry about this, but this is canon compliant and therefore I feel I must warn you about this fic having more or less brief mentions of the following (but does not actually depict any of it): rape, corrective rape, violence, abuse, self-harm, attempted suicide, drug abuse, overdosing, and death. Sigh.
