Summary
Ling, the only daughter of a ruthless dictator, is raised not as a child but as a weapon, isolated, indoctrinated, and trained to kill. She is sent on an assassination mission that catastrophically fails, resulting in a massacre that exposes a horrifying truth: the destruction was carried out by a single child. Years later, Ling lives under a false identity as a quiet, emotionally restrained cadet in an elite military academy. There, she meets Orm, the warm and idealistic daughter of one of the generals Ling was once ordered to kill. Drawn to each other in ways they do not fully understand, the two form a bond that challenges everything Ling was taught about enemies, humanity, and herself.
As political tensions rise and long-buried secrets threaten to surface, Ling must confront the truth of who she is and what she has done. It’s not like Kara deliberately sets out to make her life harder than it should be. It’s not her fault that she’s excitable, okay, and she forgets things sometimes and maybe those things should not be forgotten under any circumstances. Maybe those things include, well, housing forms, which as it turns out are super important to submit on time if she wants to not be homeless on her sophomore year of college.
Her sister’s going to give her so much crap about this.
Alternatively: in which Kara forgot to fill out the housing form and was left with no choice but to live in the most exclusive apartment on campus.

Summary
Lena Luthor is at the top of her professional game with little time for anything else.
