They had spent several peaceful hours afterwards stargazing on the rooftop. He'd trailed off while pointing out familiar constellations once he noticed the gambler had nodded off against his shoulder. It wasn't too surprising, considering Aventurine had the foresight to bring blankets up with them to combat the night chill, so it was actually fairly cozy. But it meant something, that the gambler was comfortable enough to fall asleep in front of him.

Ratio glanced at him, his expression unreadable in the intermittent light. “An impressive, if ethically dubious, feat of rhetoric.”
“Isn’t it?” Aventurine’s laugh was a low, pleasant sound in the quiet night. “And yet, I couldn’t manage to talk my way out of a simple walk home with you.”
