Summary
Danny would like to say for the record that it was not his fault.
In fact, Danny would say that it was entirely Clockwork's fault. After all, he wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for that cryptic time god.
But what was his fault was the fact that he kept helping.
He kept taking the cash from the assholes messing with the residents who lived in the area (and damn there were a lot of assholes near where he lived). He kept accepting their offers of food. So because of this new routine that kept him able to afford to rent out his shitty (and possibly illegal) apartment and the hunger pangs sufficiently satisfied, rumors grew.
tldr; after Clockwork dropped of Danny in Gotham he tries to make the best out of the situation which includes helping out some people. Except along the way that led to rumors that he was an up-and-coming crime boss. A rumor he was largely unaware of.

Summary
Helpful people were hard to find, even more so that could be considered neutral in the shitshow that people called the city. Especially where gangs, rogues, and vigilantes had more influence on what rules would be followed than the police or the government.
There was Thompkin’s clinic obviously, but not everyone could make it so easily to the Doctor, especially not in time.
But then Saturday showed up.
No one’s really sure when, why, or how; but suddenly people knew to let the skinny barefoot kid look at whatever had you bleeding out or fucked up in a dumpster or alley.

Summary
There is no feasible way Shisui should be alive.
The poison was killing him and he couldn’t move. Danzou and his men would have found him quickly enough and finished him off if the poison didn’t first.
But, Shisui looks down at himself, bandages covering his arms, chest and parts of his legs and he lifts an uncoordinated hand to his heavily bandaged head, he’s definitely alive.
And not in the right place.
