Even though he wants to stay, Buck is a good dog—he follows commands, sits when he’s told, gets off the couch when prompted, and doesn’t even steal food. He’s a good dog, and good dogs return to their imaginary owner at the end of the day when they decide it’s his time to go. He’s a good dog as he walks through the streets of L.A., dodging strangers, weaving through back alleys, and crossing the streets when the light tells him he can.
Buck is a good dog; he’s not a good human, though—dog him is selfless, happy to bask in people’s presence. Human him is selfish, needy, and graceless; unlovable, barely tolerated, and too much.

It's three years since Lestat and Louis reunited in New Orleans. Their relationship has now grown into an easy, amiable coexistence and for once, Louis is content. The publication of Daniel's book put an end to it. Lestat goes awol and Louis buries his head in the sand.
S3 will no doubt give us miserable, drugged-out Lestat feuding with jealous Louis. In this fic, I want to write them as Loustat who for at least one night, try to (gasp!) communicate like grown-up vampires that they are.

Buck freezes next to him. “At our wedding?”

Lestat is…he doesn’t know. A late quarter-life crisis, maybe, or a very early middle-life one. A way to satisfy a curiosity he didn’t know he had until he met Lestat. A distraction from a boring marriage or a way to generate some excitement in what had become an easy life.
Louis can't decide which is more accurate, and it was making the whole thing all the more exciting and all the more disturbing.

Eddie rolls his eyes, shaking his head before planting both hands on the sides of Buck's face and hauling him in to press their lips together.
