Shane’s eyes are big and gorgeous and genuinely curious. “Don’t what?”
Don’t make me look like a lovesick idiot. Don’t make my heart trip over itself for a way out of my chest and into yours. Don’t say it like that—so fucking sincere—like you don’t know how devastating it is for me.
“Don’t butcher my language,” he says instead and kisses Shane’s smile hard, like reflex, like gravity, like there was never going to be another option.

Summary
He lets himself graze his fingers across the veins on the back of Derek's hands. It's odd to look them so still, they look unnatural. Spencer knows these hands, knows how they hold a gun, knows how Derek's fingers fidget against themselves when he's thinking particularly loudly, knows the callus on his thumb and how it feels when it skates across the jut of his hip, how those fingers feel in his mouth, on his body, pressed against bullet wounds and scrapes he's collected over the years.
"I should've kissed you when I had the chance," he whispers, a confession drowned out by the hum of the machines, and the achingly empty room.
Or, Derek gets injured in the field. Some feelings come to light.

Cas, disheveled and tired, his frown etched deep into his face as he holds out his hand. “Dean.” He says, offering no further explanation.
Dean looks down at the mason jar of brand-new strawberry jelly from the farmer’s market that they got together two days ago. Cas clutches it tightly in his hand, signs of a struggle all around. Dean’s mouth quirks up. A warm, fluttering feeling rises in his chest. “You need me to open this?” He asks.
