Summary
A hundred years in the future, Pure Vanilla and Shadow Milk had learned more than they thought possible a hundred years ago. Their coexistence had come a long way to become what it is today, both together, companions with intertwined lives. With scars that are still healing. So when the idea of wanting to move pops into Pure Vanilla's mind, they look for a place to build their home, and find something unexpected.
Something that perhaps would have been better left buried forever. A forgotten library buried in the ground that seems to be interested in them. Shadow Milk is not excited. Pure Vanilla, on the other hand, is enthusiastic. After all, a second chance to get to know oneself is always welcome.

When Adam went down to Hell under the orders of a nervous Sera to see why Lucifer has been ignoring her, he brought someone back with him by mistake. Now it's up to the Archangel Michael to figure out what they should do about this mysterious little girl Adam brought back with him without starting a possible war. The problem is, there's something about this little girl that is strangely familiar and Michael wants to know why.
AKA Adam kind of kidnapped the Princess of Hell without knowing it. Sorry I'm bad at summaries.

He hadn’t even managed to put on shoes when Charlie’s loud, desolated groan at the other end of the hotel had made him rush out of his room, and his slippers and the hems of his pyjama bottoms were slowly getting soaked through. Why the fuck had he even bothered to change? He loved Charlie (see constants no. 1-4), but even he had to admit his current discomfort was solely the result of the list of healthy bedtime rituals she’d organised for him when, allegedly, the bags under his eyes had started developing a gravitational pull.
In which Lucifer has insomnia, the hotel is moderately alive, and Alastor is in over his head.

“How can we live like this?” the thought echoed in his skull, louder than her song. Shadow Milk insisted they should stay. This house had food, water, even a half-wild garden where herbs still grew.
But Lily was restless. She believed they had to keep going, had to find Dark Enchantress, the one who unleashed this hell upon the world.
Pure Vanilla knew she was right. They all did. But right now, he only wanted to pretend he was clean again. Whole again. Human again.
The water lapped gently against his skin as his condition reasserted itself. The fever pulsing behind his eyes, the dull ache under his ribs. They hadn’t said it aloud, but all three of them knew.
He wasn’t okay.

A great source of despair draws Nightmare to an abandoned AU. There he finds an unfinished Sans with no name, no companions, no purpose, no world, and a soul. Nightmare gives him the option to get out of his abandoned, empty world. He accepts the offer but refuses to destroy anything or hurt people. Instead he finds another purpose. In return the Bad Sanses give him a home, companions, a life, and a name. They call him Ink.
Or: Before he can destroy his soul and enter the Doodle Sphere, Ink is recruited by Nightmare. He accepts his role as best he can, even if he sometimes feels like he is meant for something more.
