Summary
Currently going through an Editing process; bear with me, as I'm experimenting how I'd like this story to be read/presented
The blend of two words:
Delve- to dig up and study, and
Causation- the event where a permanent effect takes place.---
When five tunnel delvers unknowingly venture into the turtles' territory, the brothers keep a close eye on the group as they go about their day. This is nothing new; Donatello had placed up spy cams and fixed up GALI for this very reason, after all.
What was new, however, was a familiar, threatening signature that closes in on the group. The brothers have to race against time in order to make sure the humans escape alive. Both groups will learn just how far they will go to save one that had been critically injured, even if it meant changing their life as they knew it just to survive.

Summary
Donnie collided with Leo in a tangle of limbs. There was an instinctive cling in return from his twin, before the realization sunk in.
"No." Leo breathed in his ear, immediately shattered. "No, no, no, no, no!”
Every muscle in Donnie's body was shaking like an earthquake from the amount of effort he'd just expended. The explosion caught up to them, sending the twins spiralling away into space and debris.
For one singular moment, Donnie allowed himself a burst of victory. His heart was still thudding a thousand miles an hour in his chest, having been absolutely terrified he wasn't going to make it in time. But he did. And he held onto Leo, his prize.
Then they hit the ground, the sudden tumble bursting them apart. Donnie felt the world spin, rapid and disorientating, before he slammed into something rock and cracking under his impact.

Bookmarking this early ( ch. 3) because it wrecked me good already. Really enjoying this "what if" story and can't wait to see what happens.
Finished. I was an absolute *mess* reading this, but the read was incredibly enjoyable. Felt seen and heard on many areas when it came to recovery on survivors guilt and trauma. Highly recommend, but definitely take care of yo self 👌💕
