The taste of sweat on his upper lip, his racing heartbeat. A world of binary outcomes. Either he would make it all the way to the top. Or he wouldn’t. There was no other option. It was either one. Or the other.

Summary
“It’ll stop in a minute, Dr. Langdon, I’m—”
“You better not be about to say that you’re fine, Dr. King,” Langdon fussed. Mel barely looked at his eyes, that intense stare that said he meant business, that he wasn’t going to let her just walk away and take care of this in the bathroom. Mel sighed, but she shuffled out of the room to take a seat.
“What happened?” Santos asked when Mel plopped down at a workstation. Mel groaned, leaning forward, and she pinched her nose together.
“I sneezed,” she said, since that was all Santos needed to know.

Summary
I’ll make a better description for this soon, but for now, it’s stories post season-one (with a mild AU so I can keep this going when season two happens) focusing on Frank Langdon’s chronic pain, and how to manage that with his other issues, as well as him and Robby learning how to co-exist again.

Summary
Abby's hands were worn. They pushed, and tore, and grasped at him in every way Frank longed for. They burned fingerprints into his skin, and branded him as hers. He had loved it, once, but as time went on, those hands got mean, and he didn't know what to do about it. Who would he even go to?
Or; Obligatory abusive!Abby fic where we see it evolve over the years of their relationship. Heed tags, a little more explanation in notes. This does end well, though.

Summary
Mel has spent her whole life taking care of Becca. But when she is assaulted after a shift, she finds herself struggling to take care of Becca and herself. Frank and Dana step in to help her heal--but it's a long journey.
That scene at the end of the Pitt where Mel is kind of numb and tired just KILLED me bc someone take care of that poor burnt out woman. So this fic bloomed out of the thought "Who takes care of Mel??"
I don't have autism and I've never been sexually assaulted, so I hope I did both themes justice, and please let me know if anything is off or inappropriate. I am asexual, so I'm not inviting feedback of how I wrote that aspect of the story. Thanks for reading!

Summary
No matter how many years go by, or decades lived—and there would be many, for someone of her kind—Trinity knew she would still remember this moment. This sight, forever burned into her eyelids and entrenched into her soul.
A supermoon at its zenith—massive and red like Ares’ wrath—hanging high above them, bathing the whole world in its scarlet light. Early Autumn wind, still humid from summer sun, bringing with them the sounds of an overactive city. The perpetual stench of disinfectant clinging to her skin.
And Frank Langdon in his last moments.
At 2330 hours on September 21st, as the supermoon reached its peak, Frank Langdon leaped off of PTMC’s rooftop.
No signs, no warning. He clocked in that morning for day shift, and was gone by midnight.
This is what remains.

Summary
This wasn’t panic, though that was certainly an element. Perhaps if it was, the benzos could’ve been justified, could’ve come in an orange canister with a psychiatrist’s name on the label. But this was something both more vague and more specific, something that required months of dual-diagnosis PHP and off-label lamotrigine twice a day.
A character study in dual-diagnosis early recovery.

Summary
Frank isn’t having a good day. To be fair, he hasn’t had a good day ever since he came back to the Pitt. It isn’t much of a surprise, though. He knew coming back wouldn’t be all sunshine and roses—he just thought things would be different.
Sometimes—when it’s late at night and his back won’t let him sleep—he wonders why he wanted to come back so badly. He knows why, of course—hell, everybody knows why he came back to the Pitt. In the end, it always comes back to Michael Robinavitch.

Summary
“Come on, kid,” someone says, rubbing his sternum with bruising fingers. Dennis desperately tries to swat the hands away, the bone already sensitive from the weight of the patient from just moments ago. “Open your eyes, Whitaker, come on. Look at me. Open your eyes.”
He twitches, his limbs flexing in odd and tight angles as he tries to expel the memory of the pain. He tries to speak, not to answer the question but to ask for help, help, anyone, anyone at all, his mom or one his brothers or the youth pastor who gives him bandages when no one is looking, just, God, please, please—
The best Dennis can manage is a deep gurgle from his throat.
*
When he gets seriously injured after an altercation with a patient, Dennis is forced to reveal parts of himself he would rather keep hidden.

Summary
“Sorry,” she starts again, before he can find any actual response. “That was a horrible question. No one could be okay after—” she fades out, and he knows, he's been there too, she's picturing every patient she worked on tonight.
He just nods, because… yeah. He's not okay either, but only partially for the reasons she's imagining.
