His plan to demand a refund and avoid the "human stick" ending goes sideways when he’s forced to befriend a young, prickly cat-hybrid Shen Qingqiu by giving gifts.
Or: Shen Qingqiu drops dead spirit-lizards and (stolen) carrots outside Shen Yuan’s bedroom as accepting the courting.

“Again?” Mawyo pauses his own task and cranes his neck to peer out of the window.
Gata chooses that time to come and butts her head against her hand. She picks her up and joins Mawyo. Beyond the translucent stained glass, she finds that they are indeed Mr. Kaveh and Mr. Alhaitham.
Mr. Kaveh is leaning heavily against his companion, practically being supported by Mr. Alhaitham’s arm looping around his waist. He is scribbling rapidly on the message board with a piece of chalk. Being drunk as a skunk has never been an obstacle for him in forming legible sentences, at least on the message board.
