With every rumble of wheels, the blade pushed further at the trigger. He waited, and he wasn't quite sure what he was waiting for, but he held his breath tightly in his shallow lungs. His heartbeat, his little cursed heart, pumped blood fervently, as if screaming at him that it still wished to serve its purpose, to live—
‘Brother, you were born a blessed child.’
A gentle nudge from Yuusaku’s cursed hands, a sudden bump in the tracks, and it all ended. Whether he was waiting for himself to put the gun down or for one of the others to stop him, it didn't matter in the end. Ogata felt his own neck crane to the recoil of having a bullet lodged into his skull, and he smiled, faintly, as a strange calm washed over him. One sure way to get rid of a wraith is to get rid of what it’s haunting in the first place.
He just didn't expect to wake up.
